Oregon’s Environmental Quality Commission Approves Clean Trucks Rule
Oregon’s Environmental Quality Commission recently approved the Clean Trucks Rule, which will reduce pollution on the state’s roadways by requiring manufacturers of medium and heavy-duty vehicles to sell a certain percentage of zero emissions electric vehicles starting with the 2025 model year. The rule adopts California’s Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) Rule and Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicle Omnibus rules (HD Omnibus). Together, the rules will ensure new diesel trucks are as clean as possible and put Oregon on a path towards a zero-carbon transportation future.
