New Resources Available to Support Electric Vehicle Charging Project Deployment in Oregon

The Oregon Department of Transportation’s new suite of online resources will help Oregon deploy electric vehicle charging projects that are equitable, cost-effective, and will meet local needs while supporting statewide goals for electrifying transportation.  

The Guide for Oregon EV Charging Deployment serves as a one-stop shop full of information and resources to support the deployment of public EV charging infrastructure throughout the state. The guide offers an overview of EV charging infrastructure basics; best practices; tools for estimating demand and equitably locating stations; planning level cost estimates; a synopsis of today’s funding sources; and strategic and equity considerations for EV charging station investments.

The EV Infrastructure Planning Map is an online GIS-based map that incorporates land use, traffic, and population data layers to help decision-makers prioritize equitable EV charging locations in their communities.

The TEINA Dashboard is a user friendly, customizable Excel tool with annual estimates for EV charging needs by geographic region that will allow local planners and other stakeholders to see EV charger estimates needed in their area to support state EV adoption goals.
