NADA and Chargeway Team Up to Educate Dealers on how to Help Shoppers Go Electric

The National Automobile Dealers Association announced a partnership with Chargeway to help its member dealers educate their salespeople and electric vehicle shoppers. Often, franchised auto dealers don’t provide much customer support when shoppers turn their sights on an EV - but the Oregon Auto Dealers Association would like to change that by taking advantage of educational resources provided by the new partnership.

NADA and Chargeway have already made progress boosting dealership EV education. Through an early pilot program, the two have successfully empowered dealers by installing informational kiosks at willing dealerships. The kiosks provide information on state incentives, incentives for installing a home charging station, local electric utility charging rates, and more. A small review of several dealers reported the ones with Chargeway kiosks that educated shoppers about EV charging and range sold more EVs than comparable dealers without the kiosks.

The team took its EV education a step further by creating an online feature within dealer websites where shoppers can learn about EV ownership before they even enter the dealership. Chargeway developed the online resource by integrating mapping, routing, and educational tools into participating dealers' websites.
