Oregon Joins 14 States & D.C. in Commitment to Accelerating Truck and Bus Electrification

A bipartisan group of fifteen states, including Oregon, and the District of Columbia recently signed a joint memorandum of understanding (MOU), committing to work together to accelerate truck and bus electrification, including large pickup trucks and vans, delivery trucks, box trucks, school and transit buses, and long-haul delivery trucks. The multi-state initiative is the largest ever to focus on transportation electrification.

The goal of the Multi-State Zero Emission Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicle MOU announced Tuesday is to have all new medium- and heavy-duty vehicles sold within the 15 states and DC be zero emission by 2050. The initiative, which Governor Brown signed earlier this month, also sets an interim goal of 30 percent zero emission sales by 2030.
