The Oregon Legislature and the Oregon Transportation Commission will provide about $4 million for improvements to the West Coast Electric Highway to better serve Oregon’s electric vehicle drivers. These funds are designed to support projects that will replace and upgrade charging equipment to allow for fast charging using CHAdeMO or CCS connectors at each of Oregon’s 44 West Coast Electric Highway sites, and to maintain and operate the network.

The Oregon Department of Transportation will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the improvements this spring. Awards are expected Summer 2020.
