Drive Electric Week 2022 Kicks Off September 23 - Find an EVent near you!

National Drive Electric Week kicked off today, September 23 and runs through October 2. The week-long event is presented by Plug In America, The Electric Vehicle Association, The Sierra Club, and EVHybridNoire as a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. This year, Drive Electric Week includes both in-person and online events put on by local event organizers across the country. Several local events are being held in Oregon over the next week – find an EVent near you to learn more about the electric vehicle rEVolution and how you can get involved!

The transportation sector accounts for 40 percent of Oregon's greenhouse gas emissions. As discussed in our Biennial Zero Emission Vehicle Report, moving to cleaner, alternative fuel transportation options, like zero emission vehicles, can reduce those harmful GHGs and help Oregon reach its climate goals.

At ODOE, we work with our partners to share milestones toward our ZEV goals, like the huge milestone earlier this year when Oregon reached more than 50K registered electric vehicles as of April. We also educate the public about electric vehicles and charging, help implement the state’s strategy to reduce GHG emissions in the transportation sector, offer guidance to business and government fleets that want to make the switch to ZEVs or other alternative fuels, and more.
