Tesla Plans Massive Charging Station in Southern Oregon

Electric vehicle maker Tesla has submitted plans to Sutherlin, OR for a Supercharger station that will be the largest in the state. While most Tesla charging stations typically have nine to 14 charging stalls, the proposed Sutherlin station will have up to 51. Tesla Superchargers can charge at up to 250 kilowatts, which can add as much as 200 miles of driving range in about 15 minutes!

“When it comes to charging networks, they have set the standard for what a really good national charging network looks like,” Jeff Allen, executive director of the Portland-based EV advocacy Forth, told the Portland Business Journal.

The Sutherlin station will be a convenient fueling stop for local EV drivers as well as I5 travelers. The station is targeted to open in 2023.
