ODOT's Mary Brazell to Receive Drive Electric Award from Plug In America

Mary Brazzell, ODOT Transportation Electrification Program Manager

Mary Brazell, Transportation Electrification Program Manager with the Oregon Department of Transportation, has been named a recipient of a 2022 Drive Electric Award from Plug In America!

Now in their fifth year, Plug In America’s awards honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated inspiring leadership in the electric vehicle movement. Mary will receive her award in a ceremony in Manhattan Beach, California, on Thursday, October 27.

In Plug In America’s announcement, they shared about Mary:

Mary is a long-time advocate for electric cars. She currently serves as Transportation Electrification Program Manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation, Climate Office. In this role, Mary guides ODOT’s transportation electrification activities, advancing Oregon’s Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) charging infrastructure deployment and ZEV adoption across all transportation modes. For many years, she was an independent consultant and played a central role in launching and accelerating numerous EV initiatives, from Edison EV, to Veloz to CALSTART.

Mary is in good company, as Portland also receives an award for “EV City,” recognizing Portland as a leading city in the country for promoting EVs and other sustainable transportation. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is also receiving an EV Leadership Award.

Congratulations, Mary, and well-deserved!
