Lane Transit District Tests Electric Buses

Lane Transit District is now testing three electric buses in the Eugene area — with two more on the way!

LTD reports that the first two electric buses started running in February and April, traveling a total of 4,100 miles. All five buses should be integrated in to the fleet by this fall.

The first two test buses saved 949 gallons of diesel fuel, and greatly reduced harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
