Portland General Electric announced today it will build a second electric vehicle charging hub in Portland — this time at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Holgate Blvd.

PGE’s first hub — known as Electric Avenue — is located downtown, and has charged more than 1.25 million miles of driving since its installation in 2015.

“This new Electric Avenue charging hub is part of our continuing effort to increase access to electricity as transportation fuel for our entire region,” said Maria Pope, president and CEO of PGE.

The east side Electric Avenue site will have six stations and two types of connectors to fit a variety of vehicles. The standard charge fee is $3, a quick-charge is $5. PGE expects the second Electric Avenue to open next year.
